Smith speaks on happiness from Psalm 1. He looks at ways that people find happiness in the Lord, with a focus on the image of a tree planted by streams. Smith considers how we reconcile this with passages that look at suffering. Smith looks at how this passage highlights the division between the way of life and the way of death - the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked. Smith compares this to Psalms which explore suffering. Smith looks at the imagery of the City of Zion and of Babylon in the Psalms, especially in Psalm 22. Smith speaks on the praise of God in Psalm 8. He explores what it meant by 'what is man that you are mindful of him? Or the son of man that you care for him?'
