Woodhouse speaks on Psalm 8, considering the question of what it means to be man or human. David marvels at God's glory and considers God's strength, and then wonders what man is in light of God's glory. Woodhouse compares Psalm 8 to Genesis 1 and Hebrews 2.

Sermon given at St Matthias church

1987-08-02

Woodhouse speaks on Psalm 137, looking back at the Babylonian exile, and remembering Jerusaleum. He places the psalm in it's historical context, and then compares the emotions of the psalm to that of what we might feel for Jesus' death. He also warns against forgetting what it means to live for Christ in the present. Woodhouse reflects on the final verses, explaining them as a cry for justice.

Woodhouse talks on the Bible's visions on the beginning and the end from Genesis 1 and Revelation.

Woodhouse talks on the topics of security, happiness and joy in the Lord from Psalm 1. He highlights the writing style, where the same format is used for both the righteous and the wicked. Woodhouse highlights other passages where there are men like the man in Psalm 1, and that Jesus is the man in Psalm 1.
