Revelations 5:11-13 'And I behold, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne...Blessing.and honour and glory and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne...' Theme: Our knowledge of heaven. Concerns the Blessedness of Heaven and how little is known of it. Considers St John's revelation of heaven by describing the assembly which he saw, the object which they adored, and the adoration they offered. 8pp., complete.

Romans 13:11 'And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.' Theme: Self-examination. Considers self-examination as largely ignored by people even though it is necessary to prepare for the Eternal State. Stresses the plight of the disbeliever with reference to the fate of fellow criminals and responsibility for their destruction. 8pp., complete.
Jeremiah 8:20-21 'The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved...' Theme: Death and Judgement. Establishes who they are that are not saved and the misery of their State. Concludes with a warning to prepare for the kingdom of God. 12pp., complete.
Jeremiah 6:16 'Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.' Theme: Duty to religion. Determines what is the old and good way spoken of, our duty in respecting it and the encouragement given to perform this duty. 1 Peter 4:7 'But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.' Theme: Sobriety. Discusses the duty associated with sobriety and thereas on for it as being that the end of all things is at hand. A sermon for the New Year. 10pp., complete.
Romans 8:6 'For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.' Theme: Spirituality vs Carnality. Discusses the difference between the carnal and spiritual mind by considering their operations and effects. Concludes with an address to both the carnal and spiritual Persons. 8pp., complete.
Luke 2:10-11 'And the Angel said unto them, Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people...' Theme: The Birth of Christ. Luke 13:28-29 'There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out...' Theme: Consequences of disbelief. Considers the promise, the means used to accomplish it, and makes further observations on the subject. Refers to colonial administration, the British Empire, missionaries in Africa and India. Shows that we must all die and nothing can secure us against death. Considers God as represented in the text in the Perceptions of his Nature, the Provisions of his Covenant and the Dispensations of his Grace.
