Robinson explores the translation to the term 'adoption'. He examines some of the Hebrew words which are not translated into English but are kept. Robinson examines the structure and style of Paul's writing. Robinson looks at Paul's audience in relation to circumcision to stress that we can never be justified by the law. However, Robinson shows that faith should lead to obedience through the Spirit. He explains that our love for our neighbour should shape how we practise our faith., Reel label reads :

Robinson speaks on Colossians 1:24-2:7. He explores the role of Paul as a messenger of the gospel in the spread of the spread of the word. He speaks on the use of the term 'priest', and the concept of service in relation to the Suffering Servant. Robinson shows that Paul is doing the work of Christ/serving in his name by applying the idea of suffering servant and the Servant of the Lord to himself. Robinson explains that the mystery of the gospel has been revealed to the saints, both Jew and Gentile. He explains why it was important for a Jew to take the gospel to the Gentiles. Robinson compares contemporary missionaries to Paul. Robinson explores what it meant to be a minister of the church, and that followers should expect the same suffering., Reel box reads : "S. Talk 5 on Colossians. Colossians 3:5-15. Robinson explores Christ's transition from Lord of Creation to Lord of the New Creation, and that this is made possible because of his death. He explains the implications for us of Christ being the Lord of the New Creation, including setting our minds on the things above, and being bound together with Christ. Robinson explores Christ's role at the right hand of God. Robinson examines the relationship between idolatry and not honouring God. He shows that we must change when we become a citizen of the new creation. Robinson explores the peace of Christ, and how this should control us., Reel box reads : "S. School '73 Tape 6 A.
