Cook preaches against the prosperity gospel, and explains how the Bible uses the word 'aspire'. Cook explores Paul's goal to please God, and whether or not we live with this as a functional goal, ie. Does it affect our day-to-day living, or whether we simply hold it as a an ideal. Cook considers what the Father's single-minded concern is - to bring honour and glory to Jesus. He then considers Jesus' purpose - to do the Father's will. The purpose of the Spirit is then considered - to testify. We are to be people with a of single-minded purpose - to press on toward having a correct assessment of ourselves and focused on honouring Jesus by building his church through evangelism and edification. David Cook looks at God's use of Romans in revivals throughout church history. He explains slavery in the first century, and how this affects Paul's writing. Cook compares being a slave of Christ against being a slave to sin. He explores the implications of the world for seeing people and the world through the eyes of the gospel - to build up people. Cook challenges his audience to consider how the gospel should impact their lives. He uses Paul as an example, to show how the gospel and grace should impact our ministry. Cook stresses that we should be growing in maturity in the gospel, and should lead us to preach the gospel.
