Raffell speaks on Jesus' journey to Jerusaleum to be crucified and raised to life again from Matthew 20:17-21:22. He explores quotes from Isaiah and Zechariah used by Matthew to show that Jesus is the Saviour. Raffell explains the imagery of the fig tree that teaches on the actions of the temple. He explains that the people of Jerusalem are spiritually blind, as seen in their lack of prayer, and that Jesus is the only one who can allow us to see., Cassette label reads : "Matt 20:17-21:22 Kanishka Raffell Focus 96" Box label reads : "Matt 13-21 Focus Semester 1, 1996 Misc preachers"

Raffel explores how you pick a real Christian from John 10, and what a real Christian looks like. He explains that Jesus is the only reliable authority. 3 distinguishing features of Christians : 1. Someone who knows Jesus and is known by Jesus - intimate with Jesus. This makes us a Christian, not any good deeds or religious rituals. 2. Someone for whom Jesus has laid down his life - saved by Jesus. Relationship of saviour and saved. We are saved by the death of Jesus in place of them. 3. Someone who listens to the voice of Jesus and belongs to his flock - follow Jesus. Jesus family is diverse in culture - the test is whether or not we listen to his voice. People are divided into the sheeps and the goats - those who are in the flock and those who are not. Raffel leads a prayer of repentance., Cassette label reads : "St Thomas' tape library Guest : Kanishka Raffel 'I once was lost…' 30.7.95"
