O'Brien speaks on Philippians 3:12-21. He looks at the issue of Paul as a model, and whether or not, by choosing himself as a model, Paul is being consistent with Christian humility. 1. Paul in his statement to the Corinthians says that he is very careful about his actions, not wanting to lead them into sin. He called them to be just as careful. Paul stresses that he also submits himself to Christ's example 2. Paul did not think that he had already reached perfection. 3. Paul quotes the example of Timothy and others, including them as other examples to imitate 4. Paul makes it clear that every congregation will have models, so ensure that you have the right ones.
