Chapman explains John's Gospel as a theological history. He explains the structure of the gospel and the miracles John has selected. Chapman shows that mastering John 1 is the key to the gospel. He makes parallels between Genesis and John. Chapman explores the relationship between the Word and the Father, and to be the light. Chapman examines what John the Baptist says about Jesus, and the implications for these statements. Chapman speaks on the sign in John 2 and 3, particularly new birth from John 3. He shows that new birth leads to repentance and faith, that is, God gives us new birth, and we respond in repentance and faith. Chapman expounds part of John 10. He explores the allegory of the Good Shepherd who gives his life for the sheep, and that Jesus has the power to lay down his life for the sheep. Chaman looks at the relationship between the Father and the Son, especially the Son's complete obedience. Chapman show that those of faith are those who hear the Shepherd's voice. He explains that these people can not be taken from God.

Chapman speaks on John 3:1-15. Chapman explores the character of Nicodemus, including what his life was like before he met Jesus, and then shows that we all need to be born again. He explains that we need to be born again because we push God out of our lives. Chapman explains that a new birth is something that God does for us in changing our lives through the Holy Spirit. He explains what impact this has on our lives, especially in our relationship to God. Chapm challenges the audience to consider how they should respond to God because Jesus had died for them by comparing it to if their neighbour's son had died for them. Chapman challenges the audience to consider how they might respond to God on judgement day. He challenges them to come to Christ young so that they do not waste the rest of their lives.
