Hebrews

Davies looks at how people draw near to God from Hebrews 7:11-18. He gives an overview of how this happened throughout the Old Testament. 1. The nature of the priest 2. The nature of the sacrifice Davies explores Jesus coming before the High Priest Caiaphas. He looks at the Levitical Priesthood. He compares Jesus to this priesthood, and the end of the Levitical Priesthood when the curtain is torn. Davies shows that the Levitical Priesthood, whilst important, was really showing people what is required to draw near to God, and that we rest on the High Priest Jesus.
