McCoy is introduced. McCoy looks at the challenge of caring for elderly relatives, and of aging yourself, to explore how people have been and are quite smart, but are not percieved that way. She applies this challenge to crossing cultures, including how we subconsciously judge people for lack of English not speaking to people directly. McCoy expounds Act 6:1-7. She stresses that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, and that this is not restricted to any cultural group. McCoy uses the tension between two groups of Jews as an example. She focuses the on the event of the widows being overlooked, caused by church growth. McCoy looks at the issues of caring for others and crossing cultures. McCoy speaks on the importance of caring for others, speaking against euthenasia. Long looks at reaching across languages and cultures. Long shares how she and her husband came to be serving at Nungalinya College in Darwin. Long looks at the importance of reading the Bible in it's historical and cultural context in order to understand it correctly. Gumridge shares her life story, from being on a mission and the impact of the missionaries. Mandy speaks on what it means for her to be a Christian. Long looks at how our culture shapes us and our worldview. She reminds the audience that everything is tainted by sin, and thus we must all be open to change. Long stresses that we must understand the original culture to feel the full weight of the bible. Long challenges the audience to consider that they are just as broken as those we are trying to reach in another culture. Speaker introduces the conference on the opening night. They do an ice-breaker, looking at why people were given specific names. Speaker explains that one of the aims at the conference is to train people in crossing cultures. Stoneman speaks on the problems around ministry because of our sinfulness. She reminds the audience of God's faithfulness. Stoneman looks at how we should behave at believers towards outsiders, and that we must genuinely love our neighbours. She looks at the warnings in Revelation including burnout and compassion fatigue. Stoneman explains that we must always remember that God is in control, as without this in mind, nothing else will fit in our lives. Gumridge is interviewed about her church in the Northern Territory. Speaker summarises the previous talks. Long speaks on Acts 15:15-35, and the discussion about is Jesus enough or do we need to add more. She explores the decision to there is nothing to add to Jesus, and that neither have to entirely give up their culture. Long then applies this to the work at Nungalinya, and the cultural challenges there.
