Psalm 42:5 'Why art thou cast down, O my Soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.' Theme: The Christian State of Probation. Points out the sources of a Christians disquietness and its remedy. Compares those who sin as the children of the devil and those who strive against sin as the children of God. Warns those cast down to read the promises of God. 8pp., complete.

Isaiah 55:6 'Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.' Theme: Seeking of God. An extension of no. 70 with an addition considering that there is a time coming when God will not be found so we should seek him now. Applies this to the young and the afflicted. 12pp., complete.

Hebrews 4:9 'There remaineth therefore a rest to the People of God.' Theme: The Privileges of Christianity. Points out who the people of God are and what the 'rest'is that remains for them. Concludes it is desireable to be among God's people. 10pp., complete., watermark 1808

1 Corinthians 6:11 'And such were some of you: but ye are washed...in the nameof the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.' Theme: Benefits of Christianity. Shows the state of the Corinthians before the Gospel was received, and the change they underwent in the preaching of the Gospel. Applies the sins of the Corinthians to the colonies situation. 12pp., complete.

(1) Mathew 18:32-35 'Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thou all that left...' Theme: Duty of forgiveness. Considers the extent, reasonableness and necessity of Christian forgiveness. 5pp., incomplete. (2) Luke 16:8 'And the lord commended the unjust steward because he had done wisely; for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.' Theme: Belief. Considers the wisdom of the unjust steward and the folly of God's children. Advises the congregation to choose God as Lord and Master. 7pp., complete., watermarks 1808

Romans 1:20-21 'For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being, understood by things that are made...they glorified him not as God...' Theme: Ungodliness. Considers the state of the Gentiles who the judgements of God are denounced against by showing how inexcusable their conduct was and ours is if we resemble them. Addresses professing Christians. 12pp., incomplete., watermark 1829

1 Kings 21:20 'And Ahab said to Elijah: Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the Lord.' Theme: Sin and Repentance. Shows how greedily men commit sin, how indignantly they take reproof and how certainly they ruin their souls. Advises on Repentance and Reformation. 12pp., complete.

1 John 3:5 'And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.' Theme: Strength from the mortification of Sin. Discusses St John's Appeal and addresses it to various character types, especially those of desponding means. 12pp., complete., watermark 1809

Leviticus 25:9-10 'Then shalt thou cause the Trumpet of the jubile to sound...in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land...' Theme: Comparison of the Gospel and the Season of Jubilee. Discusses the agreement between the Jubilee and the Gospel according to their proclammation and the blessings they conveyed. Concludes with a debate upon the way sinners are converted, God's counteraction of weakness and folly and the blessedness of those who embrace the Gospel. 8pp., complete., watermark 1796

Isaiah 45:23-25 'I have sworn by myself...that unto me every knee shall bow every tongue shall swear...' Theme: Redemption. To illustrate this oath considers its subject matter and accomplishment. Encourages subjects of the Redeemers kingdom to rejoice. 12pp., complete, June 13, 1813?., watermark 1809

Ephesians 2:18 'For thru him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.' Theme: Access to God. Shows the way of access to God through Jesus Christ and the excellency of this way. Addresses those who never seek access in Prayer and those who came to God through sin. 8pp., complete., watermark 1808
