Martin speaks on 2 Timothy 1:1-14. He gives an introduction, stressing that gifts have been developed so that those who have these gifts are labouring both in the word and doctrine. Thus he focuses on the nuture and cultivation of those already in ministry. He reminds his audience that preaching is not the only role of the minister, nor is it the only area where ministers should receive training. Martin shows that God's work and our work are happening of the same time. He looks at the effects of prioritising preaching over other things. Martin gives reasons for the motivation of being trained in preaching, and the importance of having a peaceful conscience in training. He shows that this also requires exercise and making time for their family in being refreshed and combating prayer ruts., Cassette label reads : "the Gifts of the preacher A. N. Martin"
