Thompson explores the attitude of Nebuchadnezzar and the response given by Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, especially their trust in God when they don't know the outcome.

Thompson speaks on the turn away from Christ in the west from Daniel 1. He reminds his listeners that changes always happen, both towards and away from God. Thompson reminds them that they are not of this world. He explores the imagery of the two cities. He examines the assimiliation policy used by Nebuchadnezzar. Thompson highlights that there is only one God who is still sovereign.
